September 2020

September really felt like a more 'normal' month with activities going on!  There are still oddities that exist, but I truly believe that we should enjoy every day because none of us know when it could be our last.  So here is the amazing memories we made in September:)

My dad raised me to be a foodie so I do love taking pictures of our meals sometimes.  Here we have pork chops, an asian dinner, a new protein ball recipe, healthy nachos, and a cheat meal at Red Lobster!

The state fair was very different this year, but we still went out and made the most of it!

Linz came to hang with her man for Labor Day, so we went and visited her.  We had a good time and even got to go tubing with the kids:)

We have been going back to church for awhile now.  It feels so good!  I captured this picture because it is our new decor and I thought it looked sweet:)

Tried a FabFitFun box and thought it was fun.  Not sure I will keep doing it, but we will see.

Nana came to visit so Joden had to show her his skills on the viola:)

Trying volleyball at the Y this year and so far it has gone well.  Nana got to come watch while she was here!

Reeve was supposed to have a softball tournament in Kearney, but there were not enough teams so we went anyway to go shopping.  We had a great time and created some wonderful memories together:)

A few date nights for the month.  Quick visit to the state fair for a band and drove to Giltner for some pizza.  Love this guy lots and value our time together!

My kids, growing up way too fast!

Dinner group fun!  We sampled the Oktoberfest beer and I like the Boulevard the most:)

Love so very much being back in the classroom to teach my students!

Soccer for Joden has been so fun to watch!  It feels so good to see him competing again after baseball did not happen this summer.  He is so aggressive out there and has matured so much in the area of sports!  Makes me wonder why any of us put our kids through that stress as little kids??

Celebrated Dan's 34th birthday together!  We went to the axe throwing place and it was fun:). Love that we are all closer now to take advantage of these opportunities.

Girls won 2 out of 3 rounds!

Joe Dirt?  Mike is wearing Shannon's extensions:)

Cousins!

All sorts of skin issues due to mask wearing and a lot of hand washing!

Fall decor makes my heart happy!

Sadly just a few days ago we lost Mike's Uncle Wally to cancer.  So devastating to have lost a wonderful dad and grandpa so early.  We will journey to Colorado next weekend to celebrate his life!  Prayers to their whole crew as they mourn the loss of their loved one.

August 2020

Back to some reality this month and it feels so good!  We are in school with masks and doing all of our normal activities.  Looking forward to seeing how the year progresses.

Last weekend ever in our camper.  Bittersweet, but excited for the possibility of owning some river property in our future!

First day of school for Joden and I sort of.  I did not have any students, but was still of course at work.  It was a great day for both of us:)

The next day Reeve and I officially had our first day!

That following weekend we celebrated Shannon and her graduation from UNL with her masters degree.  It was a long, yet fun day for all of us!  We are all so very proud of her.

Biggest surprise so far for middle school is that you wanted to play the viola:). I am excited for you at the same time!  Not sure about dad:)

#1 fan for your first soccer game was cousin Blair :). It was a hot one!

This was my memory on FB and I love everything about it!!

Date night included a stop at the distillery in St. Paul and dinner in the back of Mike's pickup on his hunting ground.  It was a beautiful night!  We definitely enjoyed each others company!

Mike's 37th birthday!  We brought him his gift in bed and then I surprised him that night by inviting some friends to have a beer with us.

Last weekend we ran in a YMCA race, went to Joden's soccer game, and had fun with some of our Schu crew.  It was a great way to wrap up August!

Even though life is different these days, we are still finding ways to enjoy it!

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
