Top pictures for February!
#1-We got together with the Halipines and Monsons for sourdough pizza and game night. It was our first time trying out sourdough pizza and it actually turned out pretty good! Also, we always seem to laugh a lot with this crew, which is so good for the soul:)
#2-My seniors are getting to be out in classrooms for their practicum experience. It just brings me so much joy to watch them get to experience what teaching is actually like. This is Kiley and she is working with a student here who started the year pretty much nonverbal. The teacher was shocked that he warmed right up to her!
#3-We originally were not going to be able to make it to Piper's birthday, but since their family got Covid when it was supposed to happen, they had to reschedule. So, then we were able to make it! We had fun helping her celebrate:)
#4-I told Reeve I would help with one of her classroom parties since this is her last year of elementary school. The kids were full of energy, but honestly did pretty well. I am glad I got to join in on the fun and cannot believe how fast her elementary years have gone.
#5-We finished up basketball this month with a tournament in GI and a trip to watch the Husker Women's basketball team. These girls did not pick up a ton of wins this year, but grew so much! I am super hopeful they can keep working hard and reap the benefits of that in the years to come.
#6-Joden got to go to a GI basketball game at Heartland Events Center for a special tournament they were having there. After the game he got a picture with one of our players who is going to Virgina to play. He is a great kid-it will be exciting to watch him on TV in the years to come.
#7-We hosted the Monsons, Kochs, and Nate/a few of his cousins for the Super Bowl game. I snapped this picture of how you watch the game with kids around. We love it and wouldn't have it any other way.
#8-When your kids make nights busy, you get sushi to go for your Valentines date and eat it in the car while Reeve is at dance. It worked out great and was good to have time to chat.
#9-Reeve and I watched our good friends' dog. Her name is Boston and she was great for us. It was fun to get to know Boston better. Reeve wants a dog sooooo bad. She is so great at helping with them!
#10-Reeve and I enjoyed a date together. We went to Doniphan to a cute coffee shop I saw there. We were then planning to hit up a boutique, but it is closed. So, we then thought we would go to the bakery for a treat. Well there you cannot even sit inside. It is just an order at the window kind of place. So, we grabbed a pizza to go. Then we made our way back to GI and hit up state dance that afternoon. All in all, we had fun together.
#11-My sister Lindsey was in town, so they joined us at state dance and then we went and saw my other sister for a little bit at the races.
#12-Got my tower garden up and running. Super pumped about this and looking forward to all the great produce we will get from it!
#13-Gymnastics is in full swing. Joden did not have his best meet in this picture, but still got some medals! Super proud of his hard work. At the end of the day, it really is amazing to think of all the benefits long term from the strength of gymnastics.
#14-How fun is show choir! Never did I think Joden would be in show choir, but we are loving it. What I love most about Joden is he does what he wants to. He doesn't worry about who might be in something or what others will think of him. We do encourage our kids to be themselves, but at the end of the day, I just think this is who he is.
#15-Volleyball season has begun for Reeve. They seem like a group that will jive well. They got 1st place in the silver bracket for their first tournament.
