July 2024

July was full of baseball, friend and family fun, and trying out some tasty sourdough discard recipes!  Such a great month, but wow, it just flew by!  Always bittersweet at the end of July because that means summer is wrapping up.  Incredibly grateful though to have time together!

Joden introduced me to frisbee golf.  We had a blast!  So, had to take dad on a date to play also.  It is definitely fun:)

Joden got a job this summer helping landscape.  It has been great because Steve is super flexible, but it is definitely a dirty job.

We hosted Fourth of July at our house.  We had a great time and had lots of fireworks!

We are in love with these two sourdough discard recipes!  We tried a new pizza one and these tortillas are so good.  Grateful for healthier options for two delicious food items.

Dinner group volunteered for Mercy Meals together.  It was such a great experience and fun to do together:)

Reeve had hunters safety in Kearney three days one week.  I had to take her each day, so I brought my gym with me and worked out in Yaney Park.  It was a hectic week, but it was also fun to workout in the park three days!  Also, she passed!

Pool day at Jace's was fun!  We stayed the night, but Karisa just came down for a few hours.  Reeve really enjoys Isla and had a blast with her!  And, Liv got to come hang out with us:)

The next day and the reason we stayed the night is because Reeve had a Husker volleyball camp.  Her friend Quinn invited her and she had a blast.  That morning I went and got my oil changed, had coffee with Sara, a college friend, who I haven't seen in forever, and then had lunch with my dear friend Brit who I also haven't seen in forever.  It was such a great day and I am so grateful for my time with everyone I got to see.

Used a gift card I got for my birthday from Jace, Karisa, and Heather.  It was at a place that is a bit more expensive, so it was a splurge, but oh so fun!

And a random pic of a really foggy morning walk I went on.  So cool how fog can do this!

New classroom this year and at Gish!  Excited for no traveling for sure.  It was a tad more work to get it all set up this summer though!  I am feeling good though with how it has turned out:)

Lots of baseball to round out July.  Proud of our guy!  He had a pretty great year.  Batting can continue to grow, but he did earn the starting spot for right field out of the three boys who played that position.  We fell short at districts, but they fought hard.  Excited to see how the boys all progress over the next three years!

Also, he had some great visitors to watch him play!

Two volleyball camps for Reeve-the Husker setting one and a pass and serve one for Hastings.  She enjoyed both and took a new friend, Maddy, to the Hastings one.  She has known Maddy from school, but is just starting to hang out with her some.

Annual Lyle Schumacher softball tournament was a crazy one.  We got all three of our games in and lost all three.  Some crazy weather rolled in Saturday night and ended the tournament.  It hailed for probably 20 minutes.  Lots of hail damage on everyones vehicles.

We had time to swing by Charlee's gravesite and clean it up!  We were so grateful we were able to stop out there!  Miss Charlee would be 13 this year.

Back to school tradition with Reeve to Kearney for some shopping, dinner, and a theatre show.  We had a blast!

Mike led the charge to tear out some trees at the property to make room for our container.  Grateful for his hard work and his ability to do so much on his own, saving us money!

Finally, mom and dad snuck away to fish in Canada, so we were on house duty while they were away.  We watered plants, put out trash cans, and mowed their lawn.
