February 2026

A month of good quality family time and equally lots of emotions! Ending a four month stretch of very busy schedules filled with highs and lows was a mixed emotion finish. Through it all we know God is always growing us. Thank you Lord for the many blessings and all that we learn along the way!

Loving the beautiful sunsets at the house! God's creation is gorgeous!

Enjoyed taking a group of students to our state Educators Rising conference in Kearney!

Club volleyball began. Not exactly what our plan was for the year, but we know that sometimes that is how life goes. I am not sure what God might be doing here, but we know we have to trust His plan!

Reeve absolutely loved show choir and plans to continue next year:) It really is fun, but definitely adds to the chaos!

Basketball went really well this year. Reeve loved it and I am grateful for the time commitment from the coaches. Next year we will be adding back varsity. It will be interesting. Hoping the girls can keep their heads high through the challenge!

Oh wrestling-I think you are trying to give me a heart attack! Joden had a tough end to his season. Lots of tough matches. He fought hard, but fell short on making it to state. Praying he can come back strong for his last year! Always proud of him and all the hard work these guys put in!

We still went to state wrestling because we had tickets and had a room booked. It really was fun to all be together and spend some quality time with one another!

I got to send off my niece Delayna for state swim! Love that it worked out to do so:) She goes to Northwest, but the swim team is all the high schools combined. They are under the Islander name though, so the sendoff was at our school. She came home with some medals. Super proud of her!

January 2026

It has been a wild and crazy month, filled with lots of emotions (mainly for mom-ha:). Love every moment and always try to remind myself that God is in control. It doesn't matter how good or bad we do in something, but more so what it teaches us in life and to grow closer to the Lord. I pray everyday that God will continue to grow myself and my family closer to God!

New Years day started off with some lazy family time!

Lots of basketball and often some visitors come to cheer Reeve on!

Lots of wrestling! Joden is definitely having a better season than last year, but it still is very tough! Proud of him and his hard work. To end January he is 22-20. Praying he can make it to state! We know he can--he will just have to bring it the day of districts!

Why not add another thing:) Show choir is in full swing-the hair is too:)

Church directory photo! :)

Loving experimenting with making the new house festive!

We have had some early mornings getting to kids' activities! The sky was beautiful!

Mike and I squeezed in some dinner before Reeve's basketball game. My beer was delicious with a sugar/cinnamon rim!

View from our front porch!

Reeve got to go to Winter Ball :) She was beautiful!

Reeve got to see Avery to help her celebrate her birthday! I am so glad it worked out:) And Mike was able to watch Piper do gymnastics.

What a month!

December 2025

What a month! We finally moved in!!!!!!!! And basketball and wrestling started. We have been incredibly busy.

We celebrated moving in! It feels so good to be living here after all of our hard work. We still have lots to do, but feel good with where we are at for now.

The sunrises and sunsets are amazing!

Volleyball banquet was fun! Reeve earned a letter, the Miss Congeniality award, and also tied for MVP with Jenica. Super proud of her!

Sounds of Christmas is always such a great event! Love hearing Reeve sing with her good friend Eleanor. She also sang a solo. It was challenging for her, but she did great.
Wrestling began with a dual in Columbus. Joden so could have beat his guy, but he literally died. We think he just had zero energy from cutting weight. Good news is our team won!
Kearney Invite Joden placed 2nd! So proud of him. The kid that got first is so good!

Council Bluffs Classic was awesome. It is a tough meet. Joden placed first in the silver bracket. So proud of him!

Joden's team got second place overall!

Dual against North Platte. They bumped up their 144 guy who is super good and Joden lost 4-1 I think. Proud of how good he did against him. That North Platte kid won wrestler of the invite at Kearney the previous weekend.

Fracas could have gone a tad better for Joden I think. He lost two of his matches 9-6. I want to see him win those! We faced Kearney though in the championship and we beat them!!. Joden had to wrestle Kelley again and lost. He is so good.

Joden shaved without any soap and then wrestled...

Reeve is playing on all three teams for basketball-JV, reserve, and freshman. So, she has lots of games. She is doing pretty good. Just needs to be in better shape!

Christmas festivities. We decorated cookies at my house!
Relaxed Christmas Eve morning and went to church for Christmas Eve service.
Then went to Nick's house.
Came home to enjoy an old fashioned!
First Christmas morning in our house felt so good! Then we hosted my family and Mike's sister Kati and family. It was a great day!
We saw David over break! It was freaking awesome!
First dinner group at the house was a success. Cannot believe how big all the kids are! Time is flying.
I convinced the kids to play some games with me over break!
