Thankfulness

June...a month full of many reasons to be incredibly thankful!
A few friends and I have gotten together this summer to do a bible study, which has reminded me of how important it is to take a step back and appreciate what we have that we are thankful for rather than getting caught up in what we don't have or wish we had! So here is to the many things I am thankful for throughout this June!

#1 Friends-Our trip to Mexico was wonderful and one of the main reasons why is due to some wonderful friends we have met in our lives!  We had such a great time with the Keaslings and the Longs:)  So thankful to have them in our lives!

Super pumped to be on our last flight....next stop was Cancun!
Finally to our hotel and getting checked in!  We enjoyed watching the guys do all of the work:)

Walking around our first night checking out the whole resort!
We finished our first night with a shot because my dear friend Meagan turned 30 the day before!
First day, excited, and ready to lay by the pool :)

 Breakfast right by the ocean!
 Pool time-it was so refreshing
It was wonderful to walk on the beach
 Lobster for dinner

 They were huge!
So happy one of my best friends was able to join us in Mexico!  Love this girl:)
And this is what the kids were doing with my parents while we were in Mexico!

We were getting Meagan to do some crazy things :)
We all ate dinner with our spouse this night at an Italian restaurant.  It was delicious!

We all had so much fun together that we decided we might just have to do another trip together some day:)
So it was Meagan and Kyle's anniversary this night and while eating some dessert in the buffet the Mariachi band played for us.  Let's just say there was one part that was super funny...a guy sang about 'hoochie coochie' :)
Tried to get a picture with Mike with this beautiful backdrop and he decided to be goofy, so I went with it!  This is where we laid daily and it was incredible!
Dinner this night was at a Hibachi grill, which was wonderful!  We truly did not eat anything that was bad the whole trip!
Kind of dark, but here we are around the grill.
Not the best pic, but here is the view from the balcony by the lounge!
 Tired/a few crowns in.....crazy guy!
We surprised the Longs with a tequila shot!

Last night for dinner was Mexican, which was yummo!  Let's just say I got my cheese intake:)
And we ended the night with a drink at the Privilege Lounge and our PT Meagan helped Mike with his back!

#2 Time with my kids-Due to being an educator I am able to have time off to enjoy my children and I could not be more thankful.  I know that I could not stay home all the time, but the time off I get is just what I need to enjoy many wonderful memories with my children.  I LOVE being their mother and thank God every day for the crazy journey motherhood brings on!
Now I know I am biased, but isn't she cute?
Amidst all that cuteness I had a lot of laundry to accomplish after our trip...yuck!
Joden enjoyed some time at basketball camp this summer....he is just a tad competitive!  He wanted to win at everything:)  No clue where he gets this from!
Got some coupons for ice cream at Runza, so of course we used them!

#3 Joden getting his tonsils out-Kind of a weird thankful, but due to his tonsils and adenoid removal, we are hoping this results in a healthier year for this guy!  Also, of course we are thankful for doctors and nurses who help make this whole process possible.
I love this picture on the morning of surgery!
Joden was a hoot!  He was saying some crazy things and then even requested a wheel chair to go back to surgery:)

Seeing him like this after surgery was tough and it of course made me think of him being laid up in a bed like this for some scary reason, but as you can see in other pictures he was just fine and truly did not want to leave the hospital at all!

So while in Mexico they restock your bar in your room each day, so we came home with lots of shooters.  Not sure what this alcohol is, but it was delicious!

Passing the time with some Uno since we could not really go many places while Joden recovered from his surgery.
Probably gross, but it was helpful to take some pictures of his throat to show him and us what was going on back there.
It was helpful that it rained a lot while he was laid up!  We couldn't have gone outside anyway at times.

I ended up having to do school improvement work one day so my bosses daughter watched the kids:)

#4 Mike-There are not words that can describe and explain how much thankfulness is in my heart because of Mike! I thank God all the time for him and the love he provides for our children and me.  He has been there for me in so many ways and taught me so many things during our 15 years together.

Here is a snap shot of our wedding day!  Oh what a wonderful day this was 8 years ago.  Below we celebrated our anniversary on our back patio after the kids went to bed.  We enjoyed some wine and ice cream...it was simple, yet wonderful.  Love him SO VERY MUCH!

We decided to have Zaley fixed while Joden was laid up....why not?  Might as well nurse everyone at once!
This dude just reached times of pure exhaustion during his recovery!  I needed to go to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and he was so tired I had to try and squeeze his 6 year old body into a cart-it was hard!
 Another snap shot of progress.
#5 The bond Joden/Reeve have-Of course my kids fight, just like all siblings, but they also of course love each other dearly.  It has been heart warming to watch them bond over the 4 years they have been together and it will be wonderful to see them continue to bond as they grow up.  So I am thankful they have each other now and as time goes on!
She loves to be Kori, our hairdresser!

Random picture, but my parents gave us some large wine glasses from their restaurant and one night while drinking out of them, Mike said he felt like he was drinking out of a fish bowl....it was funny!

#6 Mike as a father-Plain and simple, thankful for the father my kids have!  He is truly one of a kind <3
Mike and Reeve made some Father's Day cookies
The kids giving Mike their Father's Day notes...they were pretty cute and spot on!

Going to get her stitches out :)
There is a newer place in town called Happy Brush.  They did an afternoon camp that I signed Joden up for and he LOVED it.  So....
#7 Opportunities-Thankful for the many opportunities my kids are able to have in the community we live in.  We truly never thought we would live in Grand Island, but we love it here.  I truly believe God provides us with opportunities for a reason and I am thankful for the opportunity we were given in Grand Island!
What a goof-playing at the library!  Let's just say this outfit was super small for him :)
 Getting our toes done!
More wonderful friends!  And due to ending up in Grand Island I have met these wonderful ladies.  My dear friend Rachel threw a beer tasting event at her house.  It was super fun and it was also such a gorgeous evening to be outside!
These two are ready to head to Grandma and Granpa's for the 4th!  Joden was so excited about buying fireworks!

Wow there is so much to be thankful for all the time and it is so important to remember this daily!
