May was such a busy month, but filled with many wonderful moments. The kids are growing up quickly, which seems to mean more and more activities! Although busy, we sure enjoyed it all:)
While Joden was at a birthday party Reeve, Mike, and I decided to hit up the last weekend of the horse races. My oh my was it hot and busy. We did not end up staying as long as we had intended!
Here are some snap shots of the birthday party Joden was at. He met two boys in his class this year that he really hit it off with. Eli and Nelson are their names. This was Eli's birthday party in Hastings at the YMCA. It sounds like they had a wonderful time!
Both kids are in gymnastics and once a year at the end of the year they do what is called Time to Shine. It was super fun this year watching how far they have come along, especially Joden. His upper body strength has improved so much, along with his balance. Not sure how long he will be in gymnastics or how far he will go with it, but I sure enjoy watching him and his sister for now:)
Hanging out with dad while he mows. Love this picture of my boys<3
Joden definitely has an imagination and tries to avoid going to sleep at times. So, when he was supposed to be laying in bed getting sleepy, he chose to create this setup instead!
You never know what Joden might do at any moment! He definitely keeps us on our toes:)
Mike and I do date nights once a month and as the weather warms up it is fun to mix up the date night ideas. So, we chose to pick up La Mexicana nachos, pack up, hop on our bikes, and eat a picnic in the park. It was a fun night and I sure do love making memories with this awesome man of mine:)
Had to get a picture with his kindergarten teacher Mrs. Hayes! She is retiring this year so I am sure Joden's class will be one she will remember:)
On Mother's Day I found some old pictures of my mom and I before she got breast cancer the first time. Just wanted to reflect on how much she has gone through...praying that in the near future she will regain some strength and energy so she can feel as great as she did in these pictures. She is a tough woman so I know she can do it...Love you mom!
Avery, their cousin, had 5th grade recognition at Engleman so we went and cheered her on!
Miss sweet and sassy chillin in her shades! Love her so much!
Field day at Gates! Due to being a kindergartener Joden paired up with a 5th grader for field day. The 5th graders were also across the hall from them at school so they helped them quite a bit. For some reason over the year he grew to like his buddy here named Jenna and he even calls her his girlfriend :) It really was pretty cute that he picked her to be his buddy for field day....he sure has a big heart like his dad!
I wonder when it won't be cool to hug your mom at field day--I hope not any time soon!
During the last week of school Joden got to have a picnic and parents could come. Due to rainy weather we ate inside, but it was still a fun time had by all!
Reeve had a end of the year program for preschool. It was super fun watching her perform! I sure do love my kids and love being their mom so much:)
Her cousins even came and also Papa Schu made it down from Sidney!
On the last day of school Joden got to have a water fight at school with spray bottles. Also, their was a magician at the library that night to kick off the summer reading program. I surprised Joden and we took his buddy Nelson with us. It was pretty darn good!
Mike's oldest sister Heather turned 40 this year so we planned a tanking/camping trip for Memorial Day weekend. We knew it would not be super warm out most likely, but we did not think it would be wet and cold! Even though the weather did not look great we decided to go anyway. We all had a wonderful time and are glad we were able to help Heather celebrate:)
Loving the fact that 2 of their cousins live in town now! We decided to get an Island Oasis membership this year so we utilized it on our first week off. It turned out to be pretty good weather the day we went and the kids had a blast with their cousins!
While Joden was at football camp Reeve and I went and got our toes done!
We LOVE our patio! This cool May weather has allowed us to spend lots of time sitting out there relaxing. It has been a good investment!
On our summer bucket list is hiking. So, the kids and I decided to head out to Hall County Park and go for a hike on the trail they have out there. It is the perfect length for a first time hiking experience. Joden was of course the leader and Reeve made sure to stay in the middle. She did not want to be at the end.
My mom and dad are graciously willing to take our kids for a week while we head to Mexico. If you cannot tell the kids were very excited for their week at Grandma and Grandpa's house. I am anxious to hear how it went and to see how tired my parents are by the end of the week :)
As always so many things to be thankful for!
