June

June was filled with a mixture of warm and cool days, leaving it unpredictable and somewhat as if it was not actually summer!  Now that it is hot, it makes you thoroughly appreciate some of those cooler days:). No matter the weather though, we are grateful for the memories God has blessed us with!

We started June off with a quick overnight trip to Aunt Shannon's in Lincoln.  Her family moved there this spring and at the time we had not gone down and visited them at all.  They have bought a new house near the Lincoln Zoo, so we thought we would check the zoo out during our stay:)

Then that evening us adults snuck away for a bit of fun down in the Railyard!  We had a great time with each other:)

We had to be up and at em the next morning to head to York for Reeve's softball tournament.  It really was a beautiful day and we ended up receiving a second place metal!

Family picnic night before the temperatures got too hot!  So fun now that the whole crew can ride bikes:)

Seems like the last few years for whatever reason the kids have not made it too VBS.  This year they did and both of them had a blast!

A few more camps this month were out at Stuhr.  Reeve has done Health and Fitness and Josephina.  Joden did Explore the Platte.

Enjoyed a Friday night at Karissa's new place on the lake!

This was just a random summer night on the patio enjoying dinner and a board game...love enjoying the simple moments...especially with the kids!  They will be on their own before we know it:(

Made sure to take time for dates with each kiddo while I am not working in the summer!  Joden and I enjoyed the Chocolate Bar one morning.  He ate brunch and we played Monopoly and Connect 4.

Reeve and I went to Wasabi because she had a $5 gift card for her reading minutes.  Then we did a small amount of shopping:)

This dude has napped more this summer than I can recall since he was little.  He has been busy with team gymnastics, baseball, swimming, and various other camps.  It must just be getting the best of him.  I love that he naps though because it obviously shows his body needs it!

When the kids were younger we were pretty consistent with going to the library.  Then once they got older most of their camps are in the morning.  So, this year we have been going on Thursday afternoons for Big Kids Club.  It is at 2pm and it just seems to work in our schedule much better!

Next softball day was a Sunday in Norfolk.  Reeve rode up the day before with a teammate and they stayed in a hotel.  Funny thing was Reeve was packing her bag and decided she needed to throw in some TP...no clue why:). She had a great time and we earned another 2nd place medal!

The mixture of weather we have gotten this year has really allowed my plants to look beautiful...I sound like an old lady:)

Year 2 with our camper so we wanted to make sure we got to go with some friends this year.  Our good friends from back home have a camper also so we met them at Johnson Lake.  We had a great time and our kids got along very well even though they are a tad spread apart in age!

This dude wanted to play corn hole the whole time.  Unfortunately his mama beat him every time...he had a good attitude about it though!

Happy Father's Day to this hunk and hell of a great dad!

Random summer entertainment for Reeve was playing dress up with her very own clothes:)

June was FULL of baseball!  Joden you have had an amazing year on so many levels.  Not just performance, but this was the best decision we could have made for you.  You have just sprouted.  For some reason on Riverdogs you displayed a kiddo that truly was not who you are.  This summer you have been a leader, a good teammate, cheering on others, encouraging them to do their best, being much more coachable, working hard, and making plays.  Dad and I are very grateful for God steering us all in this direction after many prayers being lifted up!

Sure loved our surprise visitors one Sunday evening!

Helping with our VBS outreach!

Squeezed in a movie...Tuesday nights are discounted!  How awesome is that:). Might have to make this a once of month kind of thing.  We sure enjoyed Aladdin.  It was a fun spin on the previous version!

State softball included 24 teams.  We did not win a single game, but we definitely had some great moments and got better as the games went.  Love seeing the growth all these girls have had and looking forward to what the future holds!

Due to the limited options of dates due to softball/baseball our options for a quick anniversary celebration were limited!  I surprised Mike with a night in Omaha.  The original plan was to see the CWS game, but it was an if needed game and it ended up not being needed:(. So, we just did some drinks at unique places, dinner, and ended up being in bed by like 11:30.  Although simple, we enjoyed a low key evening enjoying each others company!

For the last week of June we shipped off the boys to a camp in Halsey and then we all enjoyed having Piper stay with us for the week!

Unfortunately the first morning we woke early to Piper throwing up.  Luckily it was a short lived tummy bug and she was back to herself by mid morning!

Ice cream at Stuhr when we picked up Reeve from camp!
Splash pad fun!

Date with Aunt Lauren while Reeve was at camp:)
Picked up the boys and these two were excited to see each other.  The cousins had had enough of one another so on the way home they requested sitting by their sibling:)

In order to tackle that laundry I enjoyed a vodka water!

Fun at the Olsens 4th of July part!

Girl day in Omaha for Matilda.  We had a blast!

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
