May was crazy!

One of life's greatest blessing thus far for me is the joy that fills my heart as I watch my two children progress through every stage of their lives.  Sometimes though at the same time I can't help but think of those many women out there who have longed to have kids and never can.  My prayer is always that God may find other ways to overflow their hearts with joy!  So, this May was crazy, but a month where the following scripture hits home:
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
~Romans 15:13

Event 1: Time to Shine for Reeve.  Their main focus this year was just the floor routine.  Love seeing the growth she has made over the years!

Event 2: Time to Shine for Joden.  He loves gymnastics and every year I think this might be the last one and he says no I want to do it next year:)  I love how he typically enjoys anything he is involved with!

Event 3:  Soccer games for Reeve.  She really made a lot of growth from fall to spring.  Love her demeanor playing sports!  Truly wish I could have been more laid back and not so hard on myself:)

Event 4: Joden started Riverdogs baseball this year.  It is pretty low key in terms of a 'travel team', which is exactly what we wanted for Joden.  It has been fun to watch him and his teammates play, but wow there are some crazy good teams out there at their level.  Just amazing to see how progressed some kids are.

Uncle Dan and Aunt Lisa stopped by a soccer game on their way to Lincoln-sure enjoyed having them!

Practicing a bun for her dance recital while at the doctors office. In the last few weeks of school Reeve randomly got pink eye!
Event 5: Reeve's soccer tournament.  Their first game was on a Friday night.  Due to many others being busy it was only three of them and typically the teams have four.  She got to play the whole game and rocked it.  They actually ended up winning the game:)
Game 2 of the tournament was Saturday and they ended up losing by the penalty kicks at the end.
Reeve's teacher even came to watch!  She had such a great teacher for her first year of school:)

Event 6: Mike's mom, sisters Shannon and Kati, and our sister in law Lisa came to Grand Island for the weekend.  Our main focus was to go to Loomis and wedding dress shop for Kati.  We had a blast and found her dress!

Reeve hung out with her friend Ellie while we were dress shopping!
They also got to watch Joden play baseball!

Event 7:  Mother's day gifts from the kids.  Loved their ideas and what a beautiful day it was!
Practiced dressing Reeve up for her recital just to be safe!  She loved every minute of it and it ended up not being as difficult as I thought it would be.

Event 8:  Planting our small garden.  We need to cut down one of our pine trees so we can add more.  Love how the kids are at the age where they can participate more with these types of tasks.

Love when we catch the kids asleep with evidence of what they were up to while trying to fall asleep:)
My students working on their final projects! It was great for some and a struggle for others.
Event 9: Dress up as what you want to be when you grow up day.  She chose veterinarian, which totally shocked me, but loved her outside of the box idea!
Event 10:  Dinner group at our place.  This is the big kid crew!
Event 11:  Joden's team played in the championship game and won on the coldest day of the spring.  So proud of them and their hard work!

Event 12:  First time at the Barn with my good friend Leah!  We enjoyed walking around while drinking a beverage-great break from the bussiness of May.
Event 13:  The card below explains the random act of kindness.  It was fun to do this and my kids and I will do a random act of kindness weekly this summer.
Event 14:  Field day at school for both kids.  I basically left work for 30 minutes to catch a few events.  Love seeing their faces light up when they see that I came to watch!

Event 15:  Class picnics for both kids.  I again jetted out during my lunch hour, saw both kids briefly, and then headed back to work!
Event 16:  Last day of school!  We all say it, but boy that went fast.

Event 17:  Dress rehearsal for Reeve.  This is her with her good friend Adeline.
Pictures I took on the last day of school with each of my five core classes.  These crazy kids taught me all about middle school.  Let's just say it has not been the easiest adventure I have embarked on, but one I am incredibly grateful for.
Another baseball game.  These silly boys enjoying a snack in between their double header.
Event 18:  Reeve's dance recital.  My parents and Mike's mom came down to watch.  It was a great show and I am glad family was able to join us!
Event 19:  We finished out the school year with a trip to Mexico with our good friends Alex and Leah.  We flew out of Lincoln and got to Cancun around 2:45pm.
First drink ever for me on a plane:)

We brought our tennis rackets to play tennis.  Let's just say they are more experienced than we are!
We were so sweaty afterwards!
Finally laying in the lounger!

The boys seriously spent the entire trip during the day playing chess in the pool!

One of my favorite pictures is on the left!  Those are our rooms in the background.  All of the colors just look amazing!  On the right is one night at dinner with my amazing partner in life.  I sure love making time for us throughout our marriage:)
Showed the kids this picture because I know they would love that pool!
Luckily Mike is often willing to embark on crazy adventures with me.  This trip it was parasailing.  It was beautiful and the perfect amount of time in the air-15 minutes.  Another perk was it was right from our resort so there was no extra traveling anywhere.

When we checked in the H10 rep told us one of the most fun events on the resorts is the foam party and it is only on Tuesdays.  So we of course went and checked it out.  What a blast!  It made me feel like 20 again, rather than 32 :)
Love this picture!

Third night at dinner!
Last afternoon at our resort.  We enjoyed tapas at the privilege lounge mid afternoon  and this was the view from the lounge!
Last dinner at the romantic restaurant for Alex's birthday.  It was amazing!

This resort had a bowling alley so we enjoyed bowling the last night.  The Michel's beat us by 1 stinking point!
Nana sent us some pictures of the kids at her house while we were away:)
