January is here and 2020 has begun! One of our newest adventures is gymnastics and so far we have enjoyed it:). As many of us always are, we are curious to see what our future holds with Joden and his love of gymnastics!
It was time for a group photo for dinner group...10 years strong!
We have changed some over the years, but of course those who moved away join us when they can.
First gymnastics meet went great in our eyes. We had no clue what to expect and loved that Joden did great in some events, okay in some, and definitely room for growth in some. Overall his team placed 2nd, which is awesome!
Places: 5th all around, 1st high bar, 2nd floor, 3rd rings
While we were in Council Bluffs for gymnastics, Reeve was prepping for a show choir performance. This is one of my students, Sophia, and she helped me with Reeve that day. Reeve loved this and is looking forward to being in it again in the future!
This fall was basketball league and after break we have three tournaments scheduled. So far we have played in two. We definitely have room for growth, but we also have improved a lot!!
Of course I love #8 a lot! Looking forward to watching her grow as a player:)
Team celebration at Valentino's! Lots of sugar was consumed:)
Kati made the journey to Lincoln from Carbondale on her last week off for maternity leave. We joined her in Lincoln one night for a girls night out. We had a low key, fun night!
After she finished up her time in Lincoln, she visited us in Grand Island. We loved on Blair and enjoyed some sushi!
Our second gymnastics meet was in Kansas City! We had lots of fun:
-Mike woke up with multiple spider bites :) Got our room comped for night #2.
-Joden got 1st on high bar, 2nd on rings, 3rd on parallel bar, 6th overall, and 2nd for team
-Hit up the American Girl Doll store, which was amazing
-Ate some delicious rolled ice cream
-Ran around the hotel and enjoyed happy hour
-On the way home had lunch in Lincoln with family
-Attended the Husker mens gymnastics meet
It was a great weekend for sure!
We had so much fun the kids passed out before 8pm!
Although life is incredibly busy, sometimes stressful, pulls us away from what we should focus on, my heart truly is grateful for all of it! The kids are growing up so quickly and I know we will never get these years back. So, within reason, we will live them to the fullest and embrace all the moments these years bring.
I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
Psalm 9:1
