March Madness
March 1st
-Over spring break I ventured back to Sidney to throw two different showers in one day. The first shower was for one of my best friends Meagan, who is having her first baby. She had such a great turnout for her shower even on a snowy day! I am so happy for her to experience motherhood-she will be a great mom:)
The second shower of the day was for my soon to be sister in law Lisa. She is marrying Mike's younger brother Dan. She fits in well with our crazy family and truly we already feel she is a part of the family:)
This first picture is of my sister and I at the shower!
This is the sister and sister in law crew on the Schumacher side. First is Mike's oldest sister Heather, me, Lisa the bride to be, Mike's other older sister Shannon, and then Kati his younger sister. Love them all so much-they are a great family to be a part of!
My sister and I again!
March 3rd
-Once I got back from Sidney I got to have two weeks off of work for spring break! We are able to take two weeks of vacation from daycare, so I decided to keep the kids home my first week off.
The first item on my agenda was to work on Reeve's big girl room! So, here are some pictures of me painting her wall. I really LOVE how it turned out:)
March 5th
-For Dr. Seuss's birthday the library put on an event. The kids had a blast!
March 6th
-My sister Lindsey came down early for the birthday party. So, one day we decided to hit up the children's museum in Kearney. The kids had a blast!
Then that night after getting the kids to bed my sisters and I got to enjoy some sister time at the Chocolate Bar! We had a wonderful time together:)
March 7th
-The event on Friday was to attend the horse races. The kids loved it!
March 8th
-This year we had Joden's birthday party at the YMCA. We decided to have a pool party. It truly was a great party, but the YMCA was packed with Hoops Mania people! Nothing major, but it added some chaos to the party.
He got to have some of his preschool friends come to his birthday party, so he was pretty excited :)
His cousin Finn was able to come down for his party. They enjoyed playing with one of his new toys!
Anslee also came down for the party-love her:)
March 9th
-Sunday was Joden's actual birthday, so we saved a few gifts for him to open that morning before his cousins left. Let's just say he has plenty of toys and we are very thankful for everyone who got him a gift!
We are so thankful that God brought Joden into our lives! He has a fun loving personality and it has been so amazing to watch him turn into the little guy he is today. Love you Joden!
March 10th
-We took Eileen's cookies to daycare that Monday. They turned out super cute:)
It was so nice that day we were able to hit up the park!
Grandpa and Grandma Hiers sent Joden some birthday money, so we were able to pick him out a bike. He LOVES it! He told me to take this picture so he could show Grandpa and Grandma:)
March 13th
-I got a new classroom at Howard, so I spent this Thursday afternoon during break decorating the new room. I am very thankful for the space and have so far really enjoyed having students and teachers getting to enjoy the room as well!
March 15th
-We had dinner group this night and I had to take a picture of the amazing dessert I brought. It was delicious!
Reeve hanging out with Brynlee at dinner group:)
I just love this picture! I decided to go in and check on Reeve and found her all cuddled up with her baby fast asleep. It really did melt my heart :)
March 21st
-We decided to hit up the horse races with the Keaslings to celebrate Katie's birthday:) We ended up running into our other friends the Jakobs. It was a fun night that ended with some pizza at The Bunkhouse. I LOVE random nights that end up being a lot of fun!
Reeve with her best friend Ellie :)
Hanging out at home doing puzzles.
Reeve's new big girl room! It really turned out great and we honestly did not spend much outside of the mattress.
March 29th
-When I found out one of the women's rounds of the sweet 16 was going to be in Lincoln I just had to go. I told Mike it could be what we do to celebrate my birthday:) It was a beautiful day! This first picture was us hanging out at the Railyard-we had a blast.
This was our view for the game :)
Here is a shot of the UCONN coaching staff!
And a little closer view.
Selfie at the game :) I wore my Nebraska gear even though they were not playing. Right before the UCONN game a fan stood up and shouted 'Go Big Red!' I thought it was pretty cool :)
After the UCONN game several of their players came and sat close to us :) Many little girls rushed over to get their autographs!
After the game we went to a fun pub in the Haymarket called McKinney's Pub. It was a lively bar. I hope to go back again some time with a group of people!
March was our busiest month so far this year, but it was a lot of fun. We were able to make a lot of great memories with family and friends, which is what we LOVE doing. Also, I guess for me this is one month closer to being done with my dissertation!! Oh I cannot wait to be done with my doctorate :)
