Birthdays brought some added fun to our current stay at home lives:). We are currently still home and look forward to the day when we can feel safe to venture out again!
Easter activities were different than planned. We were planning to go to Carbondale to be with Nate, Kati, and Blair, but sadly that did not work out.
We dyed eggs, hunted eggs, had church in our cars in the parking lot at our church, enjoyed a day at home, and finished it off with Ribs, cornbread, and a salad dish. It was a different, yet great day, celebrating Jesus rising from the grave!
Being silly experimenting with masks, until we got the real ones. Also, Mike and I have tried to get creative with dates. One night we watched the sun set and one day we went to the greenhouse.
Got challenged to find our first picture together ever and this was it! Ages 17 and 15:)
We go on our weekly coffee run to Baristas just for something to do:)
Reeve and I made some cards for Ashley's staff at the hospital!
We got a random snow in April, but it gave the kids something to do:)
School is still rolling, virtually. School spirit day, Mrs. Michel's PE lessons, and kind notes!
Lots of Zoom calls. Friends, family, and church is even online right now. It really will feel weird when life goes back to normal. I think we will all be really tired:)
My 35th birthday! Mike prepared my favorite sandwich, which is a French Dip. I picked Hope Floats to watch, we had some yummy beers, played a game, and finished it all off with some ice cream. Leah also brought me coffee and Karisa brought me some wine. All in all, it was a pretty great day!
No dance recital resulted in just a picture day in her costumes. We had fun and they turned out great. I love her hip hop outfit the most:). The hope is that they can have a small scale concert sometime this summer!
Cleaned up our pine trees!
Cookies from our neighbor and some yummy shrimp n grits.
Friday night pizza, movie, and some beers!
Wine for a birthday gift and ordered my first set of wine!
Saturday morning coffee time and Saturday runs!
Some color to brighten our days at home!
Reeve: wearing her Easter outfit since we didn't get to wear it to church, dance in the front yard, and turkey hunting with dad.
Joden: In need of a haircut, being a crazy pre-teen boy, and growing up way too fast!
Mom: Doing something with myself and wearing my first mask for VBS prep at church since it will now be virtual.
We have spent so much time outside. Thank heavens for the beautiful spring weather or this quarantine would most likely have been even tougher.
Family walks!
Mike got a new pickup, so we decided to go drive it to Lincoln and say hello to our family. It was a fun day and we finished it off with Famous Dave's takeout. It was delicious!
Talking to friends from a distance :)
Prepping the cookies Reeve wanted to give to friends!
Happy 9th birthday to this sweet girl! We had a great day celebrating you. It started off with showing you your birthday sign in the front yard. Then you had pancakes with sprinkles and whip cream. Next you had visitors stop by to wish you happy birthday. Some had to come early, but the plan was around 3. You had so many friends stop by and loved it so much! After that we waited for dad, then had pizza for dinner. At 7 we did a Zoom call with family to sing happy birthday and open some gifts. Dad went out to get your ice cream cake from the garage freezer. When he went out there it had melted, so thankfully we had some backup single serving ones! You had a great day and it will be a birthday you will never forget:)
Got some new planters and we love them!
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
