May

May was different than usual!  Typically we are running the race of May, looking forward to the end of it because it will be summer break and school will be done for the year.  Not this year!  School finished and we are on summer break, but May really was pretty laid back compared to how it usually is.

May 1st was the day we were to go to Mexico and ironically the temperature in Grand Island that day was similar to what it would be in Mexico.  I visited the greenhouse and then laid out under the sun with a cocktail, pretending to be in Mexico:). Then that night we did actually meet up with the two couples we were to go to Mexico with.  We sat by the fire and enjoyed a margarita:). It was not the moment we had hoped to have, but it was better than nothing!

These two tried to go get a turkey for the second time, but no luck.  They still had a great time though:)

 Got the garden planted!

This guy and I enjoyed a date on the patio one Saturday night!  He got it all set up for me while I was finishing dinner.  I always say my biggest hope is that I am impacting him in some way to be a great man and husband someday, as well as have a relationship with God!

Got his hair cut finally!  Our hairdresser allowed the boys to go to her backyard for a haircut:). Never thought that would have happened!

Switched up our weekly trip to Baristas and instead did curbside pickup at The Chocolate Bar.  It was delicious:)

For our seniors this year they created these boxes that had their senior items in them and mailed them to their houses.  Pretty cool for them to get these!  There were even personal letters to them from Grand Island teachers.

Joden finally started some gymnastics classes on Zoom!

Got this sweet picture of our niece, who will soon be living with us for awhile!

Mother's Day weekend fun:)

Joden being Joden and Reeve being a mama.  She has played with her babies a lot more during this quarantine:)

Eye appointment with my mask on:)

Played barbies with Reeve!  Took me back to the years of playing with my sister:)

Blair came to visit and I got to watch her while her mom and dad looked at houses!  We had a great time together:)

Sent this sexy picture to Mike:)

Reeve showing how she wants to be a Physical Therapist someday:). It was part of her All About Me Google Slides for writing.

Making homemade ice cream for a science experiment.

This was so cool!  Our madrigals group at the high school sang this song for graduation.  Very cool how they could put this together in this way!

Field day at home this year:). The kids had fun and did all the 'stations'.

Joden finally got to go to Twisters for gymnastics!!  He was pumped and had a blast:)

Joden's teacher dropped off his 5th grade bag of goodies!  Can't believe how fast elementary school went, but love the boy he is becoming.

And wore the mask again to go up to GISH to clean out some items I had in the classroom I used up there.  Best news of all is I will not have to travel next year!!

Last Zoom call with their classes.

Last day of school celebration!  We took pictures and went and got a coffee:)

For Memorial Day weekend we went camping at Timberlake with Ankeny's and Schumachers.  We had a great time!  It rained, we hiked, kayaked, played games, swam, watched movies, sat by the fire, went to Dark Island trail, and made s'mores.  It was such a great dose of family time that we have been missing since quarantine.

Reeve got this drawing book for her birthday and she has been enjoying it!

Won a free tank top off Instagram!  Tagged Leah so she got one too:)

Breakfast for dinner on the patio with these sweet cherubs.

Got this fun glass for helping out with VBS prep!

Decided on a whim to go get some Prairie Pride beer.

Picnic with Reeve that was really cold and ended in the car:)

Reeve has had some trouble lying about life.  She wrote this as a reminder:)

The patio is getting a facelift!

Joden got invited to be on the God Squad for Virtual VBS this year.  He is loving it and hopes to get asked again last year:)
